Partial Parallel Interference Cancellation Techniques with Adaptive RAKE Combining for DS-CDMA Ultra-Wideband Wireless Communications

چکیده
Two kinds of RAKE receiver combining schemes are investigated for a partial parallel interference cancellation (PPIC) technique, including maximal ratio combining (MRC) and minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) combining, in directsequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) ultrawideband (UWB) systems. We use the normalized least meansquared algorithm to approach the MMSE solution for the RAKE combining weights. Simulation results show that multiple access interference can be effectively reduced by the proposed methods and whether channel information is given to the MRC scheme or not, the MMSE combining scheme outperforms the MRC scheme. This implies that complicated channel estimation of accurate fading gains may not be needed in a PPIC detector for DS-CDMA UWB systems. Effective capacity evaluation of advanced wideband CDMA and UWB radio networks
High radio capacity is one of the main targets in wireless network planning. The characteristics of the broadband radio channel pose serious challenges for achieving this goal. This thesis views the capacity problem from two frameworks. In the first, the effective user capacity in advanced direct sequence wideband code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) radio networks is evaluated. Sensitivity ...
متن کاملAN2251, Maximum Ratio Combining for a WCDMA Rake Receiver
Wideband CDMA (WCDMA), a widely accepted thirdgeneration interface, is based on direct-sequence (DS) CDMA technology. To minimize distortion of the signals in a DSCDMA system, a rake receiver is used. A signal transmitted through the wireless channel may be severely distorted due to co-channel interference, adjacent channel interference (or multiple access interference), thermal noise, and mult...
متن کاملMultiuser detection for DS-CDMA UWB in the home environment
We demonstrate the effectiveness of multiuser detection for an ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse based direct sequence spread spectrum system using code division multiple access. Extensive simulations were run using channel soundings of the 2–8 GHz band collected in a residential setting and characterized by a high level of multipath fragmentation. We show that the adaptive minimum mean square error (...
متن کاملCombined space-time chip equalization and parallel interference cancellation for DS-CDMA downlink with spatial multiplexing
In the downlink of traditional Single Input Single Output (SISO) DS-CDMA systems, multipath propagation destroys the orthogonality of the user signals and causes Multi-User Interference (MUI). Chip equalization can restore the orthogonality and suppress the MUI. In the context of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) DS-CDMA systems, spatial multiplexing emits independant data streams from the ...
متن کاملPerformance of various multistage interference cancellation schemes for asynchronous QPSK/DS/CDMA over multipath Rayleigh fading channels
Performance of multistage interference cancellation (MIC) and three combining techniques, i.e., multipath decorrelating (MIC-DECO), optimum combining (MIC-OPTM), and Rake combining (MIC-RAKE) for asynchronous QPSK/ DS/CDMA over frequency-selective multipath Rayleigh fading channels is studied. The analytical bit error probabilities of the MIC-DECO and MIC-OPTM are derived and shown to be in a g...
